Arsenal fans in meltdown over Mesut Ozil's 'secret' Newcastle transfer message

Arsenal fans have found themselves in meltdown after Mesut Ozil's four word tweet sparked Newcastle transfer speculation.

Although the tweet is expected to be linked to the German international's foray into the Cypto Currency market, Arsenal fans believe he could be on his way to the Magpies.

The recent takeover on Tyneside has prompted a host of transfer speculation with Newcastle United now the richest club in world football.

The likes of Raheem Sterling, Philippe Coutinho and Aaron Ramsey have been linked with a move to Tyneside in January and Gunners fans believe Ozil could be the Toon's first big name signing.

"Exciting things coming soon," wrote Ozil on Twitter.

While there's been nothing to suggest that Ozil is on Newcastle's wish list, other than Arsenal fans' tweets, it hasn't stopped fellow Newcastle fans taking to social media.

Here's what fans have said response to Ozil's tweet:

@Auntyemman said: "Ozil, Newcastle first signing."

@AkampaWright said: "What if Newcastle signs Ozil and he does revenge on us?"

@Babe_A_Roo said: "Ozil to Newcastle would beat the internet."

The former Real Madrid creative midfielder was frozen out by Gunners boss Mikel Arteta and joined Turkish outfit Fenerbahce on a free transfer in January after his contract was cancelled.

Although Ozil's career at the Emirates came to an abrupt halt with question marks over his attitude, the 32-year-old has enjoyed somewhat of a renaissance.

Ozil has three goals and one assist to his name in nine appearances across all competitions so far this season.
