Arsenal fans in meltdown after spotting Martin Odegaard and Jurgen Klopp full-time moment

Jurgen Klopp might have delivered double misery to Arsenal this evening.

Arsenal suffered a costly defeat at the hands of Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium, losing 3-0 in what will be a huge blow to their European hopes.

The defeat means the Gunners remain in ninth place and nine points behind sixth place, despite having played a game more than West Ham United, who currently occupy that position.

Mikel Arteta's men are also six points behind Tottenham in seventh, a potential European spot, with Jose Mourinho's men at playing until Sunday and favourites to win against relegation-threatened Newcastle United.

That means it could be that winning the Europa League is Arsenal's only chance of qualifying for Europe next season, and that's not the only thing that will be hard to swallow.

Arsenal fans will also have watched on in horror as Liverpool boss Klopp engaged in a conversation with midfield star Martin Odegaard after the full-time whistle.

The Gunners are currently chasing the signing of Odegaard on a permanent basis with the Norwegian having impressed since his loan move from Real Madrid in January.

But Liverpool have also been linked in recent weeks, meaning that conversation on the pitch between Klopp and Odegaard after the game won't have gone down well with supporters.

Writing on Twitter, @AFCBezza wrote 'Nah stop', while @Gooner247 added: "Klopp casually tapping-up/flirting with Odegaard."

In reality, Odegaard could be a very difficult man to sign this summer with Real Madrid said to see the midfielder as a 'fundamental piece' of their future.

And there is no hope of either side activating the midfielder's release clause, which currently stands at £301million.
