Arsenal fans identify player to 'target' against Spurs ahead of North London Derby

Arsenal fans have identified the player they think their players should target in next week's north London derby.

The Gunners will host bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates on Sunday having recorded back-to-back wins in the Premier League following their 1-0 win at Burnley on Saturday.

Mikel Arteta's side claimed the win thanks to Martin Odegaard’s fine first-half free-kick, which lifted them up to 13th place in the table.

Spurs will go into the game off the back of back-to-back 3-0 losses against Crystal Palace and Chelsea which have seen them fall from the top of the table to seventh place – just three points ahead of their north London rivals.

And Arsenal fans took to social media following the loss to the Blues saying the team should target Emerson Royal if they are to claim the win in the derby next weekend.

Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: "Arsenal vs Tottenham next week. I want to see us target Emerson Royal, he seems rather suspect on that right side."

Others appeared to agree with the idea.

One replied: "Very suspect. Can't make decisions fast enough, just put him under pressure."

A second Twitter user wrote: "Be interesting to see with who we go for at LW, lot of people saying Saka is wasted there to accommodate Pepe."

Another added: "Yes he looks weak. I think Reguilon is also a weak link."

But the fanbase was split on exactly how the side goes about targeting Emerson Royal.

Some want to see Pepe starting up against him, although other names were also mentioned.

One person wrote: "I want Emile Smith-Rowe and Tierney running rings around him."

Another added: "Then we have to play a back three, and send Saka to run infield while whenever Tierney comes forward that way causing more damage to Emerson."

A third wrote: "Definitely Pepe on the left every time he's played there he's been dangerous same goes for Saka on the right."
