Arsenal fans have noticed what Mikel Arteta has done with Bukayo Saka in training

Football is close to returning in the Premier League.

The 2019/20 restart has been given the green light to get back in action on June 17, with Arsenal set to kick-off after a three-month break with their game in hand away at Manchester City.

And the Arsenal players are gearing up for the return with regular training sessions at London Colney.

With no moving pictures of football to keep supporters interested, fans have had to make to do with still images of their Arsenal favourites, with multiple photos appearing of the training sessions over the past few weeks.

And the Gunners fans think they've spotted something about where Bukayo Saka fits in under Mikel Arteta.

Football is back – but how will it work?

Saka's best position has been a subject of continual debate since he was given an extended run in the side.

That came at left-back, a decision forced on Arteta out of necessity following injuries to Sead Kolasinac and Kieran Tierney.

However, he has made no secret of his desire to make his name further forward and said after his man of the match display in a 4-0 win over Newcastle in February: "I feel like my dream was always to be a winger, to affect games, score goals and get assists.

"For now I’ll do the job the manager asks me to."

The first close-contact training pictures showed Saka training with the defenders and there were similar pictures emerging over the weekend, that Arsenal fans had a theory over.

Saka was seen taking on Hector Bellerin, with Saka in a bib and Bellerin not so, suggesting the left-sided player had been pushed further forward in training to take on Arsenal's first-choice right-back.

On the r/Gunners Rediit page, Bogan-Gooner said: "Do you think all the pictures with Saka 1v1 with Bellerin means we will see him playing further forward? Or are they because they’re both defenders and training together?"

Holden107 responded: "Saka isn’t a defender and I don’t think he will be unless we have another injury crisis so he will most likely be moved forward."

Meanwhile starfriends-of-1984 said: "I think Arteta will want to get Saka into the left midfield position as quickly as possible."

And Ugoboy brought up the training video of a few days previously, by saying: "In the last training video on Youtube the squad was broken up into three sections of defenders, mids and forwards. Saka was with the attackers, might not mean anything but I doubt that it's insignificant."
