Arsenal fans sing brilliant Alexandre Lacazette chant inside the Emirates before Tottenham game

Alexandre Lacazette netted his second goal of the season against Tottenham in the north London derby.

The striker has been a popular figure among Arsenal fans since his arrival from Lyon in the summer of 2017, and has continued to prove himself as a vital part of Unai Emery's side.

And the Gunners' fans showed their appreciation for the forward with a brilliant rendition of his chant in the stadium concourse before the Spurs game.

The chant, sung to the tune of 'spirit in the sky' started to take off in Baku, where the Gunners were for the Europa League final against Chelsea at the end of last season.

With fans eager to show their support for the players going into the new season, the chant got an outing among the away fans at St James' Park in the opening game of the season against Newcastle. A game in which Arsenal won 1-0.

And a video of the chant before the north London derby was posted on Twitter on Sunday.

Arsenal fans' new Lacazette song

The words to the song, devised by fans including Twitter user @kane2602 are as follows:

"He's our Frenchman, He's our number 9,

Plays for Arsenal in the red and white,

Scoring goals is what he does best,

And he goes by the name of Lacazette."

Lacazette proved to be an invaluable member of Unai Emery's team last season, winning the club's 'player of the year' award at the end of the campaign.

The Frenchman has now scored 38 goals in 91 appearances in the red and white of Arsenal and will be hoping to improve on that tally this season.
