A video of Arsenal defender Sead Kolasinac fighting off two knife-wielding attackers on mopeds has gone viral.
Kolasinac and team-mate Mesut Ozil were in north London during the attempted carjacking of the latter's vehicle.
Ozil, 30, ditched the car in the middle of the road and ran to a restaurant for help after defender Kolasinac confronted their pursuers.
Footage showed the Bosnian, 26, fending off the pair, who had crash helmets on, and chasing them away. Police have confirmed neither player suffered injuries.
Arsenal fans have praised his actions and the bravery shown by the former Schalke full-back in acting to try and protect his colleague.
The Metropolitan Police advise the public to trust their instincts in potentially violent situations and look for a way to leave, put distance between yourself and any threats.

"It’s important to never lose sight of the fact that your personal safety is the most important thing," according to the Met. "Your belongings can be replaced but you can’t.
"If you’re in a building with security personnel, tell them immediately about what is happening. If you’re unable to call the police during the incident, then call as soon as you can."
In the UK, the police can be called on 999.
