Arsenal fans go wild for what Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka did against West Brom

Arsenal supporters have been reacting to Emile Smith Rowe's opening goal for the Gunners against West Bromwich Albion.

The hosts broke the deadlock at the Emirates Stadium just before the half-hour mark against the Baggies.

A nicely weighted pass from Willian found Bukayo Saka, who then crossed it into Smith Rowe at the near post, who volleyed past Sam Johnstone.

It was somewhat of a relief for Arsenal, with West Brom threatening Bernd Leno's goal in the opening exchanges in the capital.

The two youngsters have been bright sparks in Arsenal's pretty poor season and the duo once again combined against West Brom - sending the Gunners fan base wild on Twitter.

One fan said: "Saka and ESR carrying this club I swear", moments after Smith Rowe put the home side ahead.

Another said: "Saka and ESR are the only bright spots in an awful season".

The strike is actually Smith Rowe's first goal of the Premier League season, and his second in all competitions.

However, the 20-year-old has registered seven assists in the process.

Arsenal quickly doubled their lead following Saka and Smith Rowe's combination, with a goal that had more individual quality.

Nicolas Pepe, coming in from the right-hand side, smashed the ball into the top left corner which handed the Gunners a two-goal cushion in the match.

Before the match at the Emirates, fans gathered outside the ground once again to protest against the club's owners - the Kroenke family, something Mikel Arteta addressed.

Arteta said: "We are the ones that have to give them something to cheer about. I don’t think it’s time to demand anything from them.

"If anything, just support the players. If you do that, they will value that, they will be better, they will play better and we will achieve better things, but I think it’s our moment now towards them."
