Arsenal fans angry with Arsene Wenger for selling Serge Gnabry after Tottenham goal glut

Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to fume at Arsene Wenger's decision to sell Serge Gnabry after he netted four goals in Bayern Munich's Champions League clash with Tottenham.

The winger bagged a brace in the space of just 120 seconds at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Tuesday night before completing his hat-trick and then grabbing a fourth with a few minutes to go, as Bayern put seven past Spurs.

Gunners supporters were delighted to see a former player tormenting Tottenham, but were equally frustrated that the club opted to sell him back in 2016.

"Am I blaming Wenger for not giving Gnabry enough chances? 100 per cent YES," tweeted one unhappy fan.

"We kept kept [Alex] Iwobi and [Theo] Walcott. Gnabry was sold even though he performed well whenever given a chance to."

Another added: "Reminder that Arsenal sold Gnabry for £4.5m. What a player he's become."

And a third said: "Serge Gnabry and Nicolas Pepe are the same age. Arsenal sold one for £5m and bought the other for £72m."

Gnabry joined Arsenal from Stuttgart as a youth player and came through the ranks in north London before joining West Brom on loan for a season in 2015.

The winger failed to shine under Tony Pulis, who didn't rate the German, and Wenger parted company with him in that summer's transfer window.

Back in Germany Gnabry found his feet, putting in some brilliant performances for Werder Bremen and catching the eye of Bayern Munich.

He completed a transfer to the Bundesliga giants in 2017.
