Arsenal fans have congregated at the Emirates Stadium tonight to protest against Stan Kroenke and the Super League plans.
On Sunday night, it was announced Arsenal would be one of the 12 founding members of the proposed new Super League, which would include 15 clubs who are guaranteed qualification every year.
It's proposed the competition would run alongside domestic leagues and include up to 20 teams, made up of 15 of the founding members, 12 of which have been announced, and five invited clubs based on sporting merit.
The plans have been widely condemned, and most Arsenal fans are furious to discover their club are involved despite not proving themselves as part of the European 'elite' in the last 15 years or so.
Arsenal said in their statement on Sunday evening: "We have joined 11 European clubs as founding members of a new midweek competition, the European Super League.
"There’s lots more to do to bring the competition to life and we will continue to update our supporters as things progress."
And on the back of that commitment, Gunners fans have been outraged, and some have even turned up at the Emirates Stadium tonight to voice their disapproval.
Fans were filmed outside the stadium singing 'we want Kroenke out' along with several banners with one reading "Shame on you AFC!! RIP Arsenal 1888-2021." You can see the footage above.
Arsenal fans have followed the likes of fans from Leeds United and Liverpool, who have taken to Elland Road and Anfield respectively to pin up protest banners and voice their concerns today.
It is reported that each club that has accepted an invitation to join the Super League would receive up to £350million, and it's claimed all of that money has to be spent on infrastructure rather than transfer fees.
Nevertheless, the move would allow many of the 'elite clubs' to gain an advantage over those who would not have the opportunity to join the competition.
