Arsenal fans credited by Mikel Arteta as latest Emirates statistic backs top-four ambition

Arsenal are on an amazing run of form which has allowed the club to go on a 10-game unbeaten run in all competitions.

We have not lost a game after the September international break and that has allowed the club to compete for the Champions League positions, which seemed an impossible task at the start of the season.

And a major reason for this, is due to the excellent record at the Emirates Stadium, as Arsenal have the best home record in the league.

This is a notion that Mikel Arteta had strived for and now he has finally been able to achieve it.

Speaking last year, the Arsenal boss said: “We have to make the Emirates a fortress. It’s a completely different feeling playing at home with or without fans, it’s not the same.”

The Gunners have been excellent at home this season, picking up 13 points out of a possible 18 at the Emirates which is the best home record in the league.

Chelsea are the only opposition to pick up maximum points at the north London ground, but when the context of the Arsenal squad suffering from major injuries and illness to important players is factored in, then it is a defeat that shouldn’t be considered as significant.

During this excellent form at home, we also saw a magnificent performance against fierce rivals Spurs, which was really the moment our season transformed.

Arsenal ran riot in a 3-1 victory and it was also the birth of Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka featuring on the wing positions, which has secured the team victories in matches going forward.

The club suffered without the fans in the ground last season, and the defensive solidarity the team has in this campaign coinciding with the presence of the supporters have all been major factors for the success at home.

Crystal Palace have been the only side to take a point from the Emirates since the September international break, but this came after a really disappointing performance from Mikel Arteta’s side.

Last season, we would have lost the game against the Eagles, but due to the home advantage, the squad pushed over the line to avoid defeat.

If this amazing form at the Emirates can continue throughout the season, then Arsenal have the potential to be playing Champions League football for the first time in half a decade.
