Arsenal fans can't believe what Sokratis Papastathopoulos did against Aston Villa

It was a day when Arsenal got themselves out of jail with a late fightback, but they certainly made things difficult for themselves.

After goal 1-0 down, Nicolas Pepe's penalty brought things level before Aston Villa immediately put themselves back in front with a goal from Wesley.

However goals from Calum Chambers and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ensured that Unai Emery's side got the points in a relieving late comeback.

A big question mark regarding Emery's side continues to be the defence with David Luiz and Sokratis Papastathopoulos causing concern among the supporters.

Neither player looked particularly impressive against Dean Smith's side, and Sokratis certainly got supporters talking with one action late in the second half.

Involved in a tussle with Villa striker Wesley, the defender pulled himself to the ground before clutching his head after receiving a minor graze from the frontman's leg.

You can see the incident below.

It may not have been one of the most important moments of the game, but it certainly won't have helped the defender's cause with the Arsenal fans.

Sokratis is one of many players in the team who have received criticism for their role in some high profile mistakes against the likes of Tottenham and Watford.

But at a stage in Arsenal's season when they need to stand up and be counted in key moments, the way he clutched his head in such a situation will not have filled the fans with confidence.
