Arsenal fans' brilliant Shkodran Mustafi chant during FA Cup tie against Bournemouth

Arsenal fans have been showing their support for under-fire defender Shkodran Mustafi during the FA Cup game against Bournemouth.

The Gunners are in fourth-round action against the Cherries at the Vitality Stadium, and will face a trip to League One side Portsmouth should they come through the match unscathed.

Mustafi was named in the starting XI for the third match in a row, with the selection coming after his mistake against Chelsea led to David Luiz conceding a penalty and being shown a red card.

The match against Bournmouth was Mustafi's 13th appearance of the season in all competitions as he looks to become a regular in Mikel Arteta's side.

Arsenal fans in attendance at the game at the Vitality Stadium showed their support to the German defender by chanting the defender's name during the first half of the match.

It is the first time in a while that the 'ohh Shkodran Mustafi' song had been heard at a football stadium.

However, in the second-half the defender picked up what seemed like a nasty ankle injury, meaning that he was stretched off the pitch in the 62nd minute, being replaced by Rob Holding.

As he was taken off the pitch, fans gave the chant another airing to show their support for the player.

The injury means that Arsenal's need for defensive reinforcements during the January transfer window may have just become slightly more urgent.
