Arsenal fans asking the same question after Aymeric Laporte's red card for Wilfried Zaha tackle

Arsenal maintained an excellent run of form with a superb 2-0 victory over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

The result saw Mikel Arteta's side rise to fifth in the table, level with West Ham - with their London rivals still to play this weekend.

Goals from Gabriel and Emile Smith Rowe put the Gunners on their way, while at the other end Aaron Ramsdale produced a string of fine saves in a Man of the Match display.

It means that Arsenal's unbeaten run was extended, continuing a remarkable turnaround following three consecutive defeats to start the Premier League season.

However, Arsenal fans weren't entirely pleased by what they saw as they believe one major decision made during the match was incorrect.

Jonny Evans was shown a yellow card for hauling down Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on the break, with the away fans calling for VAR as they felt a clear goalscoring opportunity was denied.

While the referee disagreed and the decision was forgotten in the celebrations that followed the final whistle, a different outcome elsewhere later in the day caused quite a stir.

Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte was issued a red card for a foul on Wilfried Zaha, which was similar to Evans' foul on Aubameyang.

Arsenal fans were left questioning the inconsistency among Premier League referees, with some believing it was further evidence of an agenda against them.

Further comparisons are likely to be made throughout the weekend and it will be interesting to see what the general consensus will be.
