Arsenal fan makes amusing Shkodran Mustafi discovery outside Emirates Stadium

Shkodran Mustafi is not the most popular player among Arsenal fans.

The defender made a number of high profile mistakes that lead to goals last season, with many Gunners fans hoping that he would move on during the summer.

However, the German international remains at the Emirates Stadium, at least until January. He is yet to make an appearance in an Arsenal shirt this season and the deadline day signing of David Luiz has pushed the 27-year-old even further down the pecking order, although he has been included in the 20-man Premier League squad.

Having been somewhat frozen out this season, an eagle-eyed Arsenal fan has spotted a visual representation of the current situation that Mustafi finds himself in.

On the approach to the Emirates Stadium are flags representing each player in the Arsenal squad, but a picture posted by Reddit user bornthisbeige shows Mustafi's flag, which appears to be situated in the corner, covered by overgrown trees.

The trees are grown as if to purposely cover Mustafi's face, with just his name and the Arsenal shirt visible on the picture.

The defender joined the Gunners from Valencia in 2016 and has made 115 appearances for the club, and as in the picture, it could be the case that Mustafi won't be seen in an Arsenal shirt again.
