Matteo Guendouzi is quickly becoming one of the most popular players amongst Arsenal supporters.
And events during the 3-2 win over Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon is likely to endear him even more.
The Frenchman was a driving force as the Gunners came from behind with 10-men after Ainsley Maitland-Niles had been given his marching orders for two bookable offences in the first-half.
Guendouzi won the penalty from which Nicolas Pepe dispatched with ease to open his account for the club and it was his cross to the back post which eventually brought the hosts level again through Calum Chambers.
Such was the midfielder's impact that he caught the eye of Premier League legend Alan Shearer.
"When you consider they’re going down to ten men, their change in attitude was just incredible," Shearer said on Match of the Day 2."Saka came off, Chambers came on at half-time and all of a sudden you’ve got committing men forward, there’s more pace to their play and the intent was there.
"Guendouzi was absolutely magnificent in the second half, they needed a warrior and he stood up."
But it's what Guendouzi did after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had scored what turned out to be the winner that will delight Arsenal fans.
As revealed by @seangooner on Twitter who was sat behind the Aston Villa dugout noted that Guendouzi and John Terry exchanged words throughout the game, with the Gunners star gesturing that he was inside the Chelsea legend's head after the Aubameyang's goal.
Of course that prompted a huge reaction from fellow Arsenal fans on Twitter.
