Here are your Arsenal evening headlines for Thursday, February 4th.
David Luiz decision
Arsenal have confirmed that the Football Association has rejected their appeal regarding David Luiz's red card against Wolves.
The Gunners hoped to see the Brazilian's dismissal overturned, which would have made the defender available for this weekend's trip to face Aston Villa.
However, Mikel Arteta's side have been issued a blow as the experienced defender will not be able to feature in that clash.
To make matters even more frustrating, the news came at the same time that Southampton saw their own red card appeal achieve success.
Runarsson admission
Mikel Arteta has admitted that Alex Runarsson is set to start against Aston Villa this weekend, with Mat Ryan likely to miss out through injury.
The Brighton loanee may have to wait to make his debut for his boyhood club, with Arteta hinting that he is set to be unavailable.
However, Arteta's comments did suggest that, if the Australia international was passed fit, he would come in to replace the suspended Bernd Leno.
"Yes, if Mat is able to train and they are both fit then we have a decision to make," he said. "If Mat is not fit then obviously Alex will be in goal."
Vieira eyed by Bournemouth
Arsenal legend and former club captain Patrick Vieira could seal a return to English football as Bournemouth are eying the Frenchman as their next boss, the Mail states.
The promotion-chasing Championship side are said to have assembled an all-star list of managerial candidates, which also includes former Chelsea captain John Terry.
Vieira is currently available following his sacking from OGC Nice and earned his managerial stripes in MLS, where he was in charge of New York City FC.
With finances tight for the Cherries, appointing a manager who is currently out of work is seen as the most likely move.
