Arsenal evening headlines as wonderkid makes transfer decision and Juventus star wants move

Here are the Arsenal evening headlines on Saturday, May 30.

Arsenal face Ndidi competition - reports

Per Todofichajes via HITC, Arsenal are set to face competition in the race to sign Leicester City midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, who is said to have been a long-term target of the Gunners.

Real Madrid are said to be interested in the defensive midfielder, who will cost around €40million per the report. Ndidi is believed to be open to a move to the Bernabeu.

Earlier this month, All Nigeria Soccer reported of Arsenal’s interested in Ndidi. Ndidi has been central to Leicester’s success this season, with Brendan Rodgers comparing him to Steven Gerrard and Leon Britton as the tempo-setting distributor at the base of the midfield.

With Arteta keen to bolster his own midfield options, bringing Ndidi to the club could be an ideal move. But with Madrid now said to be lurking, that will not be an easy transfer to complete.

Federico Bernardeschi reveals Premier League plans

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus midfielder Federico Bernadeschi would welcome a move to England and the Premier League if he was to leave the Old Lady this summer.

Since Maurizio Sarri’s arrival in Turin last summer, Bernadeschi has seen his appearances drop consistently, making 18 Serie A appearances all season, of which just nine are starts, totalling 795 minutes. His last league start came on December 7.

Arsenal have been named as a potential landing spot amid a myriad of Premier League clubs, including Manchester United and Chelsea.

In Paul Pogba and Jorginho, who Sarri is a firm believer in having brought him to Chelsea from Napoli two years ago, both United and Chelsea have players to comprise some form of swap deal. Arsenal have experienced players they are looking to offload, too, but whether Juventus are interested remains to be seen.

Another Ligue 1 wonderkid goes begging

After missing out on Paris Saint-Germain prodigy Yacine Adli two years ago, the midfielder spurning the chance to follow Unai Emery to the Emirates and signing a new deal in Paris at the last second, Arsenal could be about to miss out on another Ligue 1 wonderkid.

Per Julien Laurens and ESPN, Arsenal are interested in Adil Aouchiche. Another PSG product, the 17-year-old attacking midfielder scored a sensational nine goals in five games in last summer’s Under-17 European Championship.

He is yet to sign a professional contract with PSG and a host of clubs are said to be lining up, including Bordeaux, Saint-Etienne, Lille and the Gunners. ESPN report that the French teams are put off by his €4m signing on fee and €25,000-per-week wages, but Goal claim that Aouchiche arrived in Saint-Etienne this week to undergo a medical ahead of a proposed move.

It remains to be seen whether Arsenal can secure his services, but this is the type of deal the club has excelled at recently.

Last summer, they signed Gabriel Martinelli from the fourth tier of Brazilian football. Last year, they added Matteo Guendouzi. They might miss out of Aouchiche this time, but it shows their scouting network is still working hard to find young talent.
