Reasons for encouragement over Dani Ceballos’ Arsenal future
The form of Dani Ceballos was one of the reasons behind Arsenal’s upturn in form towards the end of the season, with the Gunners keen on keeping the Spaniard at the club before the end of his current loan spell.
football.london understands the Emirates Stadium club want to extend Ceballos’ loan stay while his parent club Real Madrid are keen to sell the midfielder permanently to raise some funds for their own transfers this summer.
There are a number of factors which give Mikel Arteta, Raul Sanllehi and Edu hope that Ceballos will stay in North London for at least another season.
Ceballos has rediscovered form after a difficult season at Real Madrid last season, meaning both the player and Arsenal will likely be eager to stick together beyond the summer. The Gunners also have a number of sellable assets they could move on to fund a move.
Former Arsenal midfielder claims striker deserves £500k-a-week
Perry Groves claims Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang deserves double the £250,000-a-week contract offer that is currently on the table for the Gabon striker.
Aubameyang scored twice for the Gunners as they came from behind to beat Chelsea in the FA Cup final on Saturday. With the 31-year-old in the final year of his contract, there is much speculation over his future.
Former Gunners midfielder Groves believes Aubameyang deserves £500,000-a-week such is his contribution to the team.
“I don't care as an Arsenal fan, and I know we're in difficult financial times, but if they said Aubameyang is on £400,000, £500,000 a week, it wouldn't bother me at all because some players warrant it. Some players warrant it and he does because he delivers,” Groves told TalkSport .
Arsenal set to make second bid for Portuguese teenager
Joelson Fernandes will be the subject of a second offer from Arsenal this week with the Gunners eager to complete the signing of the Sporting CP teenager.
Portuguese outlet A Bola (via Sport Witness) claims Sporting rejected the Gunners’ initial offer of €20million, but now the North London club are expected to return with a second offer for a player they view as a priority signing.
Representatives from Arsenal are expected in Lisbon this week, along with Joelson’s agent Kia Joorabchian and the player’s father, in an attempt to get a deal over the line.
