Arsenal evening headlines as Philippe Coutinho urged to seal transfer, Ceballos deal close

Here are your Arsenal evening headlines for Tuesday, July 28.

Simeone tells Arsenal how to get the best out of Partey

Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has told Mikel Arteta how to get the very best out of transfer target Thomas Partey.

The Gunners have reportedly had a second bid of £22.5million, plus Matteo Guendouzi, rejected for the midfielder - according to the Guardian.

Partey’s release clause of £45.5million appears to be far above the amount Arsenal are willing to play, but the Spanish club have shown just how good the Ghana international can be if he ends up at the Emirates Stadium.

The 27-year-old has been praised for his versatility by Simeone and using that level of adaptability with Arsenal could be key to getting the very best value from him.

Ceballos move to Arsenal ‘almost done’ - reports

On loan Real Madrid midfielder is reportedly close to extending his time at Arsenal past the end of his current loan spell.

The 23-year-old has been impressive since moving the Emirates Stadium on loan last summer and looks to be a key part of Arteta’s plans.

According to AS, via Sport Witness , Real Madrid are keen on extending the loan spell of Ceballos at the Emirates Stadium while reporting that a deal is ‘almost done’.

The report claims that the Spanish champions will let the midfielder stay at the Gunners on loan until the end of next season.

Coutinho urged to join the club by Arsenal chiefs - reports

Philippe Coutinho has reportedly been asked to sign for Arsenal by the club’s hierarchy.

Reports in AS Sport, cited by HITC , outline that the club has made contact with the Brazilian playmaker who is believed to be on Barcelona’s transfer list this summer.

Arsenal have been linked with the 28-year-old on several occasions since it became clear that he wouldn’t be signing for loan club Bayern Munich.

The club’s chiefs are reported to have asked Coutinho to lower his wage demands from the astronomical figures he is currently earning at Camp Nou.

If the Gunners are to get a deal over the line, it will most likely depend on Coutinho’s willingness to take a sizable pay-cut.
