Arsenal evening headlines as Mikel Arteta gets transfer boost and Stan Kroenke's wealth revealed

Here are your Arsenal evening headlines for Sunday, May 17.

Arsenal transfer target backed to move in next window

Reported Arsenal transfer target Emmanuel Dennis has been backed to leave Club Brugge this summer by manager Philippe Clement.

The 22-year-old has registered a number of notable performances this season including a brace in a 2-2 draw with Real Madrid in the Uefa Champions League earlier in the campaign.

It is believed that Arsenal are one of a number of clubs interested in signing the forward in the upcoming transfer window, along with fellow Premier League clubs Wolves and Newcastle.

Dennis’ current boss, Clement, has recently admitted that the forward is likely to depart in the next transfer window.

"It is very likely that Dennis will leave. He can also count on a lot of interest. It is the time for him to take a new step," Clement told La Dernière Heure.

Gunners eyeing move for unwanted Barcelona player

Barcelona second-choice goalkeeper Neto is reportedly being monitored by Arsenal as the goalkeeper eyes more game time next season.

The shot-stopper has played just once in LaLiga this season with Marc-Andre ter Stegen being firmly number one choice at the Camp Nou.

Barcelona look set to offload a number of unwanted players in the upcoming transfer window due to the financial impact caused by the suspension of football.

Their desire to reinvest money in younger players could also play a part in forcing older members of the squad out in the coming months.

Atletico Madrid and AC Milan are also said to be monitoring Neto’s situation with Arsenal being the latest club to register their interest, according to The Sunday Express.

Kroenke’s worth of £6.8bn is only bettered by Manchester City’s Sheikh Mansour, £23.3bn, and Chelsea’s Roman Abramovich, £10.16bn.

The 72-year-old’s company Kroenke Sports & Entertainment has been involved with the club since Kroenke officially joined the Board of Directors in September 2008.

Elsewhere, Spurs’ Joe Lewis ranks seventh in the ranking with a value of £3.9bn and Manchester United’s Glazer family in eight with £3.8bn to their name.
