Arsenal evening headlines as loan ace makes big admission and what Reiss Nelson did in training

Here are your Arsenal evening headlines for Wednesday, February 10, 2021.

Guendouzi claim

Matteo Guendouzi may have risked the wrath of some Arsenal fans with his big admission about Tottenham forward Son Heung-min.

The Frenchman, who is currently out on loan at Hertha Berlin, has split opinion amongst the Gunners fanbase since his arrival from Lorient in 2018, and his most recent comments are unlikely to endear him to the supporters any more.

Speaking to Oh My Goal US, Guendouzi was asked who he thought the best player in the Premier League was.

And he immediately answered: "Kevin de Bruyne. He's someone who is everywhere, with his passing quality, his vision of the game. For me he's one of the best midfielders in the world."

Does David Luiz have a future at Arsenal?

Instead of stopping there, Guendouzi opted to name a player from Arsenal's fierce rivals Tottenham.

"I'd also say Son at Tottenham," the midfielder added. "He's a player who does a lot of good for his team."

Solomon transfer talks

Shakhtar Donetsk winger Manor Solomon has confirmed that he's in ongoing talks with several Premier League clubs amid links to Arsenal.

"There are talks with teams from England," Solomon told Israeli news outlet Sport5. "There are things that can happen in the summer.

"My dream is to play in England and it also seems to me the most realistic option for me.

"And teams in England can pay."

A source close to the player told football.london in January that he would be "delighted" if the 21-year-old joined Arsenal, but admitted "there is still a long way to go" before a move happens.

What Reiss Nelson did in training

Arsenal's preparations for the Premier League clash with Leeds United are underway.

And after Mikel Arteta's admission that his side's lack of efficiency and consistent threat in the final third is a big concern for him, some of his players did some extra shooting work in training.

Ahead of Sunday's game at the Emirates Stadium, the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, Gabriel Martinelli, and Willian were all put through their paces at the London Colney training base.

But, as seen in the image above, it was Reiss Nelson who was somewhat the star of the session as he showcased his finishing ability.

As spotted in the video clip uploaded to YouTube, from around the 5.35-minute mark the shooting drill gets underway and Nelson finds the net with each of his three attempts.

It was certainly a statement from the England U21 international who has been on the fringes of the first-team picture of late, with his last appearance coming against Newcastle United in the FA Cup third-round last month.

Interestingly, Nelson scored the winner against Leeds when the sides last met in north London a year ago, could his showing in training lead to a recall this weekend?
