Arsenal evening headlines as Leno makes Odegaard prediction and Lacazette issues injury update

It's been a busy day as ever in the world of Arsenal.

If you missed any of the big stories, here are the evening headlines for Sunday, January 31.

Solskjaer verdict on Martinelli

It's safe to say Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer doesn't think too highly of Arsenal's Gabriel Martinelli.

The Brazilian had a decent game on Saturday evening as the Gunners held United to a goalless draw at the Emirates Stadium.

During the game, Solskjaer was heard urging his side to take on Martinelli, believing him to be a weak point in the Gunners' side.

The Norweigan was heard shouting the 19-year-old 'cannot defend' and his players should try and take him on 'whenever you like.'

Although Martinelli ended up being hauled off at half time, he had the last laugh though with a miraculous defensive header that prevented an almost certain goal for Marcus Rashford ensuring the Reds failed to find the net.

Lacazette injury update

Striker Alexander Lacazette has reassured fans he shouldn't be out for too long following Saturday's draw with Manchester United.

The 29-year-old was withdrawn in injury time against the Reds after landing awkwardly on his head.

He received several minutes' worth of treatment before leaving the field and there were fears he may face a lengthy spell out.

However, the former Lyon man has taken to social media from what looks like a medical room to give an upbeat message, saying: "All good over on this side.

"Thanks for the doctors for the support and the fans for their concern."

Leno's exciting Odegaard prediction

Arsenal no.1 Benrd Leno says Gunners fans should be 'very excited' about new loan signing Martin Odegaard.

The Norwegian international has penned a loan deal with Mikel Arteta's side for the rest of the season after finding first-team opportunities hard to come by at Real Madrid.

Leno believes Odegaard has an excellent chance to be a big success in north London and going on what he has seen so far in training, the German insists his new teammate will bring 'a lot of fun' to the side.

"I think we should all be very excited because he is an attacking midfield player who is turning, wants to go forward, wants to play passes and create chances and have assists,” said Leno to the Evening Standard.

"In his first days he has been very impressive and has been very open to everyone, and I think we will have a lot of fun with him in the next months."
