Arsenal evening headlines as Gunners handed Emi Buendia blow and Saka sends Grealish message

Here are your Arsenal evening headlines for Tuesday, January 19th.

Emi Buendia transfer blow

Arsenal have been handed a significant blow in the transfer market this month after Norwich City boss Daniel Farke ruled out an exit for Emiliano Buendia.

The Argentine has been eyed by the Gunners to fill a creative void in the squad but Farke has made it clear that he will not depart in January.

"No, it won't happen. I know football is football. Anything can happen. But right now, for me, 99% certain," Norwich boss Daniel Farke told reporters in a press conference on Tuesday.

Saka sends Grealish message

Arsenal star Bukayo Saka sent a message to Gunners transfer target Jack Grealish after scoring for the club against Newcastle.

The teenager combined with fellow Hale End academy graduate Emile Smith-Rowe to net Arsenal's second of the game against the Magpies.

And after the game, Saka made an Instagram story that tagged Chelsea's Ben Chilwell and Aston Villa captain Grealish, who is being sought after by Arsenal, where he made an 'A' sign.

They are reportedly among a host of Premier League players that are part of a Whatsapp group called 'The Avengers'.

Walcott makes controversial claim

Former Arsenal man Theo Walcott has made a controversial claim when declaring Robin van Persie was 'better than Thierry Henry'.

Walcott played with an unbelievable quota of players during his time in north London, including Cesc Fabregas, Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and the aforementioned striking pair.

However, while many would expect him to name Arsenal's all-time leading scorer as the best player he's featured alongside, he opted for Van Persie instead.

“I spoke to someone about this the other day actually, and debated a couple, but it would have to be Robin (van Persie). For me, Robin Van Persie was the best finisher I’ve ever seen, genuinely better than Thierry Henry, better than anyone I’ve seen because he genuinely made it look so easy," he told TalkSport.
