Arsenal evening headlines as Gunners contact Real Madrid star, Edouard's price-tag is revealed

Here are your Arsenal evening headlines for Wednesday, April 29.

Celtic set asking price for Arsenal-linked striker

Mikel Arteta is an admitted admirer of Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard, but the Gunners will have to fork out big money if they want to bring the Frenchman to London.

According to a report in the Express, the Bhoys want more than £25m for the France Under-21 international, who has scored 27 goals this season and more than 50 since making his loan move from Paris Saint-Germain permanent.

Edouard has also assisted 19 goals, meaning he has been involved in a goal at a rate of more than once per game this season.

James Benge on Aubameyang's transfer fee, Thomas Partey and Saka's future

Arsenal have been keeping tabs on Edouard’s development, and former Gunner Charlie Nicholas recently suggested the club should be speaking to Kieran Tierney - a summer arrival from Celtic - about the player’s qualities.

How Granit Xhaka’s turnaround embodies how Mikel Arteta is restoring Arsenal's core values

Back in October, when Granit Xhaka berated supporters who booed his pedestrian response to being substituted against Crystal Palace, his time at the Emirates Stadium looked to be all but over.

With Hertha Berlin reportedly ready to offer the Swiss midfielder an exit route, that seemed to be that, but things changed with Mikel Arteta’s arrival as manager.

Arteta has turned Xhaka into a key man again after taking over from Unai Emery, to the point that fewer people are now talking about his future.

James Benge has gone into detail about how this has all played out.

Arsenal ‘make contact’ with Real Madrid star

Mikel Arteta appears to be spending the Premier League’s suspension to focus on transfer plans, with reports linking the Arsenal boss with a move for Real Madrid’s Sergio Reguilon.

According to Spanish publication ABC, via the Daily Star, the Gunners have made contact with the Spanish left-back as uncertainty reigns over Bukayo Saka’s contract situation.

The report suggests Arsenal’s interest comes amid fears Saka, whose contract expires in 2021, could end up leaving north London.

Reguilon is currently on loan at Sevilla, who sit third in La Liga and on course for a return to the Champions League.

He played 14 league games for Real Madrid last season, but saw his chances limited after the arrival of Ferland Mendy at the Bernabeu.
