Arsenal evening headlines as Guendouzi decision made, Buendia price issue, Bissouma stance

Here are your Arsenal evening headlines for Tuesday, January 12.

Guendouzi not to return

Despite reports in German outlet Bild suggesting that Hertha Berlin were ready to send Matteo Guendouzi back to Arsenal as they are unable to permanently sign the Frenchman, the midfielder is set to remain with the German club, per reports.

Arsenal loaned Guendouzi to Hertha Berlin in the summer after he fell out with Mikel Arteta and Bild reports that Guendouzi would be available for £29 million, a fee that Berlin cannot afford, leading to reports that Guendouzi would return to north London.

However, Fabrizio Romano now reports that Guendouzi will remain in Germany until the end of the season.

Writing on Twitter, he said: "Matteo Guendouzi is *not* coming back to Arsenal in January. Hertha Berlin want to keep him until the end of the season."

Buendia price revealed

Arsenal will reportedly have to pay £40 million to prise Emiliano Buendia away from Norwich City this month.

The Gunners are on the lookout for a creative midfielder, and as football.london previously reported, Buendia is a long-term target of the club who has been considered among other options.

However, the Daily Express now reports that Norwich will demand £40 million for their star creator, who has fired them to the top of the Championship as they push for promotion straight back into the Premier League after last season's relegation.

Arsenal are keen to add a creative midfielder, as Edu Gaspar conceded before the transfer window, but £40 million may be a stretch in the current climate.

Bissouma stance on Premier League

Yves Bissouma loves the Premier League, a source close to the player told football.london amid interest from Arsenal and Liverpool.

Bissouma has impressed for Brighton this season, his performances drawing the admiration of those at the Emirates, as football.london previously reported.

And the midfielder "loves the Premier League" and would love to stay in the division, with Arsenal his number one choice. It is understood that any move would not be possible until the summer.

With Granit Xhaka's future uncertain and Dani Ceballos set to return to Real Madrid at the end of the season, a central midfield partner for Thomas Partey is of key importance for the Gunners.

Meanwhile, Graham Potter explained what Bissouma could offer Arsenal. "He wins a lot of balls back and physically he is in a good place," he said.

"He makes good decisions and he has the power, athleticism and technical qualities to deal with the ball. It’s then just the tactical understanding which I think he has developed."
