Arsenal evening headlines as Grealish admission is made amid transfer talk, Man United get boost

Here are the Arsenal evening headlines for Friday 29 January 2021.

Willian and Pepe tipped to shine

Arsenal favourite Gilberto Silva has insisted that there's still plenty to come from Nicolas Pepe as well as summer signing Willian.

The club-record signing continues to show flashes of quality, while the latter is yet to show his best form since arriving from Chelsea.

But, Gilberto is convinced both players can turn things around at the Emirates Stadium.

"Willian’s performances have dropped a little bit recently, but for me he is still a good player, maybe he doesn't always perform to what people expect from him, but I hope he can still do well and help Arsenal," Gilberto told Betfair.

"I like what I have seen from Pepe so far, but I think he needs to keep going at defenders and not stop when he comes up against them because he's fast and he has got quality, when he gets the ball he just needs to go forward, dribble around defenders and don't stop to give them a chance.

"I believe in his ability and quality and I'm sure he has a lot to add to the club."

Grealish admission

Arsenal wonderkid Bukayo Saka has admitted that Jack Grealish is the England player he is most impressed by.

As spotted by @TouchyGooners and uploaded to Twitter, Saka heavily praised Grealish when speaking with Gunners legend Ian Wright.

When asked which player he's been most impressed by - presumably in the England squad - in the flesh, Saka responds by naming Grealish and says: "Wow."

Some Arsenal fans have a theory that Grealish will eventually replace Mesut Ozil as the club's new No.10 at some point in the future.

This is after new loan signing Martin Odegaard opted for the number 11 which has led some fans to speculate that Grealish is on his way to the Emirates Stadium in the summer transfer window.

Although any deal for the Aston Villa playmaker would have cost £100m according to the Telegraph.

Injury boost for Man United

Man United United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed a major injury boost ahead of his side's clash against Arsenal.

The good news is that Eric Bailly is fit after missing the surprise 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Sheffield United on Wednesday night.

United were also without Victor Lindelof for the game at Old Trafford as Axel Tuanzebe was chosen to partner captain Harry Maguire in central defence.

But Bailly has recovered from a minor knock and will be in the United squad that travels down to London.

"He's travelling to Arsenal, yeah," Solskjaer confirmed.

"Apart from that, we didn't get any other losses from Sheffield United and the players are all fit and raring to go."
