Arsenal evening headlines as Granit Xhaka delivers transfer warning and Roma swap deal emerges

Here are the Arsenal evening headlines on Wednesday, May 20.

Gunners eye Kluivert swap deal

Arsenal could look to use Henrikh Mkhitaryan in a swap deal for Roma forward Justin Kluivert, according to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, via The Mirror.

Mkhitaryan has spent the season on loan in Rome and has rediscovered some of his previous form with the Italian side.

The Gunners could look to offload the Armenian attacker in the summer and could use him as part of a deal to sign Kluivert.

The 21-year-old Dutch sensation is the son of former Newcastle United star Patrick Kluivert and Arsenal could offer €13million (£11.7million) plus Mkhitaryan for his services.

Xhaka warns Arsenal hierarchy

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has warned the club’s hierarchy that it would be a “great loss” should striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leave in the summer.

Aubameyang would enter the final season of his Gunners contract should he stay put in the summer.

“If that were to happen (Aubameyang leaving the club), it would, of course, be a great loss for the team and the club,” Xhaka told German publication SportBild, as reported by football.london today.

“Auba is always dangerous and always good for a goal, and as a guy, he’s also really great. He is always positive, optimistic, helpful and very professional.”

Kroenke handed £400m boost

The owners of all 32 NFL franchises have agreed to give Stan Kroenke over £400million of financing for his stadium project in Inglewood, Los Angeles.

The Arsenal owner also owns the Los Angeles Rams, and he is aiming to complete the project in time for the 2020 NFL season, which is set to begin in September.

According to the L.A. Times, the financing that has been given to Kroenke will consist of a private loan and increased debt limits for the Rams.

The near-worldwide shutdown of sport has severely impacted the finances of Kroenke, Sports and Entertainment (KSE) - the company that owns the Rams and Arsenal - and other franchises.
