Arsenal evening headlines as Edu told to sign Thomas Partey, Dani Ceballos closing in on return

Here are the Arsenal evening headlines on Thursday, September 3.

Gunners interested in West Ham star

Arsenal are interested in making a move for West Ham United winger Felipe Anderson this summer, according to Football Insider.

Anderson has struggled to play much first-team football under Hammers boss David Moyes in recent months.

The report states that the 27-year-old Brazilian attacker is now a top target for Gunners manager Mikel Arteta.

This is despite Anderson managing just the one Premier League goal last season for West Ham, despite featuring 28 times.

Ceballos set to complete second loan deal

Dani Ceballos is set to complete a second consecutive loan move to Arsenal from Real Madrid, football.london understands.

The Spanish midfielder is putting the finishing touches to his return to the Emirates Stadium, after a mixed season with the Gunners.

It took a while for Ceballos to get going in an Arsenal shirt, but since Mikel Arteta took over from Unai Emery - and especially since lockdown - the 24-year-old shone for the Gunners.

It quickly became apparent that Ceballos wasn’t part of Zinedine Zidane’s plans at Real Madrid next season, as he looks set to be wearing the famous red and white shirt yet again.

Ex-Gunner tells Edu who to sign

Former Arsenal full-back Armand Traore has told his former club to sign Atletico Madrid star Thomas Partey in this summer transfer window.

Partey has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates this summer, with Arteta looking to bolster his midfield options.

Traore, speaking to talkSPORT, has urged his former side to complete a deal for the Ghana international: “I would strengthen the central defence. I wouldn’t mind a guy like Partey, sitting in front of the defence, somebody a bit angry.

“He reminds me of Gilberto Silva or Vieira, somebody who can go out there and have a go. I think Arteta’s doing a great job and I can only see them doing well in the future, to be honest.”
