Arteta offers Gabriel Magalhaes update
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has provided a key update on the Gunners' pursuit of Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes.
The 25-year old has reportedly completed a medical at the club, with a £25 million agreed with the Ligue 1 side earlier this week.
However, despite the deal being close to completion, Arteta confirmed the Brazilian centre-back is not yet an Arsenal player.
"Regarding Gabriel we cannot announce the deal yet, it’s not finalised," Arteta said in his press conference ahead of the Community Shield.
"You all know he’s a player we like. Everything is okay when both parties sign. But sometimes in the last stages, it isn’t easy. But we are pretty positive we can do it.
"When we get him, I will be pleased. He’s a player we have followed and we’re determined to get him as he’s the right profile for our squad."
Arsenal open to Bellerin offer from Juventus
Arsenal are open to selling defender Hector Bellerin to Serie A champions Juventus this summer, according to reports in Italy.
The Spanish international has been linked with a summer exit from the Emirates Stadium, with Champions League finalists Paris Saint-Germain also linked with the former Barcelona star this month.
Reports from Corriere dello Sport, via Sports Witness, claim Juventus have already contacted Arsenal over a potential deal, but they are currently unwilling to meet the Gunners' £30m asking price.
Recently appointed Juve boss Andrea Pirlo is rumoured to be targeting a host of new faces ahead of his debut season in charge at the club, with Bellerin top of his list if a move can be agreed with Arsenal.
Bellerin is reportedly open to the chance to head to Turin, but Arsenal are unlikely to budge on their valuation given the Spain international is under contract at the club until 2023.
Gunners eye Ligue 1 star
Arsenal are the latest Premier League side to be linked with a move for Marseille star Morgan Sanson.
The former Montpellier midfielder has impressed for Andre Villas-Boas’ side following his 2016 arrival at the Stade Velodrome.
The 26-year old has been on West Ham United’s radar for more than 12 months, but the Gunners are now set to challenge the Hammers alongside Wolverhampton Wanderers, Fulham, and Burnley.
The Daily Mail reports the French side are open to selling Sanson in the coming weeks as Villas-Boas looks to refresh his squad.
The former France Under-21 international has established himself as a consistent performer in the Marseille’s engine room; he made 27 league appearances and scored five goals as the club secured a Champions League spot in 2019/20.
