Arsenal evening headlines as Arteta gets club legend backing, Ozil makes end of career plans

Good evening, Arsenal fans. Here are your evening headlines for Monday, November 2.

Adams: Arteta is the governor

Steve Bould believes Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is the 'best he's seen in a long time', according to former Gunners captain Tony Adams.

Bould and Adams were teammates during a successful period for Arsenal, and the former has remained with the club where he currently works as Under-23s head coach.

Adams is still in touch with Bould following their time together in north London, and he said the 57-year-old is a huge fan of Arteta.

"I can't speak highly enough of the guy," Adams told StadiumAstro. "When I talk to my mate Steve Bould, who's still in the club managing the Under-23s at the moment, he said to me, 'Tone, this guy's got it at all.

Mikel Arteta impressed by how well Gabriel and Partey have settled in

"He's the governor, he's the best he's seen in a long time. He really does understand the game. He expresses himself, he's very confident – it's his first job for god's sake and he's doing a remarkable, remarkable job."

Ozil reveals at post-career plans with investment decision

Mesut Ozil has revealed he is joining Class 5 Global, a venture capital fund, as a strategic adviser.

The German international was already an investor in the San Francisco-based company and has now decided to join them in a formal role, according to Bloomberg.

Ozil’s decision indicates a future in start-up investments, with the player releasing a statement confirming the news.

“I am excited to shape and work on my post-football career while I am still actively playing football,” he said.

Hertha coach praises impact of Arsenal loanee

Bruno Labbadia has singled out Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi for praise following his first outing for the Bundesliga club.

Guendouzi, 21, joined Hertha on loan from Arsenal in the summer transfer window after falling out of favour under Arteta.

He made his debut for the Bundesliga club on Sunday as a second-half substitute during the 1-1 draw with Wolfsburg.

Although it was only a brief cameo, it earned him praise from Labbadia.

“You saw that he is a very good ball player who gives us a quality that we need: ball security, [he plays] simple clear passes over four or five metres, that did us good”, Labbadia told German magazine Kicker.

“Now, of course, he has to get into a rhythm, that’s something he doesn’t have [right now], we know that, but that’s how it is now.”
