Arsenal drop major Gabriel Magalhaes transfer announcement hint

Arsenal have dropped a huge hint that they could be set to announce the signing of Gabriel Magalhaes anytime now.

Gunners fans have been desperately waiting for the club to announce the arrival of Gabriel after it emerged their side had won the race for his signature last week.

Starring for Lille in Ligue 1 last season, the Gunners appear to have won the race for the Brazilian's signature amid links with Manchester United, Everton and Napoli.

A £25m fee has been agreed for the centre-back, who has reportedly completed his medical, and fans are now waiting for official confirmation from the club.

Defence has been a major problem at the Emirates over the past few years but Mikel Arteta is doing all he can to ensure it is no longer an issue with Gabriel set to join William Saliba in north London for the new season.

And now a post on Arsenal’s official Facebook page appears to offer Gunners fans that confirmation of the deal is coming very soon.

They wrote: “Willian x David Luiz x _” before adding “I’m not sure I can talk about it yet… Let’s call him!”

The post then concluded with: “You don’t want to miss this one!”

Speaking on talkSPORT last month, Lille president Gerard Lopez gave an update on the deal.

"That choice, I don't think I'm giving up too much if I say, it's going to be made today or tomorrow," he said.

"I couldn't tell you at this stage what it is. We've given him some recommendations but we don't like to talk in public because we don't want people to feel bad.

"We've told him where we think he could and should go but at the end of the day he and his environment make their choice and we support that."
