Arsenal drop Eddie Nketiah transfer hint after Leeds United recall

Arsenal's official website appears to have accidentally confirmed Eddie Nketiah's next move following his recall from Leeds United earlier this month.

The 20-year-old made 17 appearances in the Championship for Marcelo Bielsa's title-chasers but the vast majority were off the bench, with Patrick Bamford the preferred option.

As a result, Arsenal activated a recall clause in the player's contract at the beginning of the month to bring his spell at Elland Road to a premature end.

However, while Arsenal are short of strikers following Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's suspension after a red card against Crystal Palace, his return to North London was expected to be brief.

A host of clubs were being linked with a loan move for the highly-rated forward for the remainder of the season - and the club's official website seems to have prematurely confirmed his destination.

On his player profile, an image of Nketiah was accompanied by the message 'on loan' - posted above the badge of Bristol City, who narrowly missed out on his services in the summer, it has now however been changed back to Leeds.

The Robins were favourites to secure Nketiah's services this month given their historic links but a number of other Championship sides had expressed an interest.
