Arsenal drawn against Leeds United in FA Cup third round

Arsenal have been drawn against Leeds United at home in the third round of the FA Cup.

The Gunners kick off their campaign in the competition at the start of 2020, with ties set to take place on the weekend of 3-6 January.

The draw, which was completed by former Arsenal captain Tony Adams and ex-Manchester City defender Micah Richards, saw Arsenal pulled out alongside the Championship leaders.

Both Championship and Premier League teams joined the draw for the first time this season, as lower league teams look to pull off a cup upset.

Marcelo Bielsa will take his side to the Emirates with that in mind, as the Whites look to build on their good start to the season, which sees them currently sit at the top of the Championship.

The game will will also kick off a minute later than the allotted time, due to the FA's link with the 'heads-up' campaign in an attempt to encourage supporters to take 60 seconds to think about their mental health.

Arsenal may look at the FA cup to kick start their campaign after a disappointing start to the season.

The last meeting between the sides came in the same competition in 2012, with the Gunners coming out as 1-0 winners thanks to a goal from Thierry Henry.
