Arsenal deliver Lucas Torreira and Sead Kolasinac injury updates ahead of Sheffield United clash

Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Lucas Torreira should be fit for Arsenal's Premier League match against Sheffield United at the Emirates.

The Gunners midfielder was considered a doubt after being replaced at half-time during the 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace last weekend.

Arteta confirmed after the game that the Uruguayan had picked up a muscle problem: "It looks like it's an injury," the Arsenal head coach told reporters.

"He had to come off at half-time.

"We'll have to check with the doctor but it looks like it.

Mikel Arteta looks ahead to match with Sheffield United after Palace draw

"It's a muscle injury, we will have to assess it with the doctors tomorrow or the day after then we will know more."

But speaking in his press conference ahead of the Sheffield United clash, Arteta confirmed that the 23-year-old should be fine to play despite some discomfort.

"He [Torreira] trained yesterday as well but still not 100 percent," he said.

"It was something related to his hip but he’s a tough boy and hopefully he will be available.”

Elsewhere, Hector Bellerin remains a doubt with the Spanish international's hamstring problem being assessed ahead of the weekend.

But Sead Kolasinac will definitely miss the game against the Blades after being ruled out with a strain to his left thigh.

The Bosnian could however, return for the clash against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge next Tuesday.

"The doctors are still assessing him. He had a normal session yesterday but had some discomfort," Arteta said.

Kieran Tierney and Calum Chambers remain on the sidelines with their long-term injuries.
