Arsenal deliver latest on Martin Odegaard amid double transfer blow ahead of summer window

Here are your Arsenal morning headlines for Sunday, April 18.

Injury latest

Arsenal will still be without Martin Odegaard and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for the visit of Fulham.

The Gunners welcome Scott Parker's men to the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League, with Arsenal looking to pick up where they left off on Thursday night after beating Slavia Prague 4-0 away from home to book a place in the Europa League semi-finals.

Mikel Arteta was without Arsenal captain Aubameyang for the trip to Prague after he recently spent time in hospital after contracting malaria on international duty.

And he will still be absent from the squad for the game against Fulham, with Arsenal confirming that he is continuing to recover, adding that he will continue to be supported and assessed by the medical team in the coming days.

Odegaard, who is currently on loan at Arsenal from Real Madrid, was also absent on Thursday night due to an ankle injury and he too will miss the game against Fulham.

However, Arsenal have confirmed that it is hoped the Norwegian international will be back in light training next week.

Meanwhile, David Luiz and Kieran Tierney will also miss the game with Fulham as they continue to recover from knee injuries.

Real Madrid's fresh Odegaard stance

The Martin Odegaard transfer saga continues to rumble on as Arsenal attempt to convince Real Madrid to sell.

Odegaard has enjoyed an impressive spell on loan with the Gunners, joining late in the January transfer window, and he has quickly convinced his loan club to pursue a permanent deal.

Mikel Arteta and Edu have already decided they would like to keep the Norwegian permanently, but they face an uphill task to convince Real Madrid.

There was hope that Los Blancos would sell Odegaard for a fraction of his £301million release clause amid financial issues that could make it difficult for the Spanish giants to spend big on new recruits this summer.

But according to Marca, Arsenal have been dealt a fresh setback, and perhaps maybe even a decisive one with Odegaard listed as one of Real Madrid's 'untouchables' ahead of this summer.

It's claimed the midfielder, along with Rodrygo, Ferland Mendy and Fede Valverde are the players Real Madrid won't consider selling and the four stars who will become the core of the club's strategy in the coming years.

That could put an end to Arsenal's hopes of landing Odegaard, particularly given his release clause makes it impossible for any club to sign him unless Real Madrid wanted to facilitate a sale.

Achraf blow

Arsenal look set to miss out on reported transfer target Achraf Hakimi ahead of this summer.

The Inter Milan right-back was said to be on the Gunners' radar, with Hector Bellerin linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium this summer.

Mikel Arteta is said to have promised Bellerin a conversation over his future this summer and that could leave the Gunners needing to find a replacement.

Hakimi was named as one of the players Arsenal could turn to, but it now seems as though the right-back will stay put at Inter Milan with his contract set to run until 2025.

He told Repubblica this week: “I’m planning my future with Inter. I hope to stay for a long time, I’m happy here”.

Hakimi only signed for Inter last year on a deal worth £36million from Real Madrid having failed to secure a proper breakthrough at Real Madrid after coming through the club's academy.

But having become a regular at Inter, it seems Hakimi doesn't want to go anywhere this summer, pledging his future to his current club.
