Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi has stated that the squad 'believe in the process' at the club, whilst he also backed teammate David Luiz.
The Gunners have struggled for consistency since the return of football, losing to Manchester City and Brighton before back-to-back wins against Southampton and Sheffield United.
During those matches, scrutiny has continued over the Gunners defence and Luiz has been widely criticised, but Mustafi has defended his colleague.
"It’s not always easy to find a solution. When you’re 1-0 up, the opponent goes with everyone to press you but I think what I see is that this team believes and it believes in how we want to play football," he told BT Sport after the match.
"It tries things even if it doesn’t look as good as it should. I think we need to believe in the process. At the end of the day, we’re all human beings, we all make mistakes.
"For us defenders, it’s not always easy. David Luiz is experienced enough and he knows how to deal with those situations and for us, he’s a fantastic team-mate, who brings a lot of life into the dressing room.
"His career speaks for itself. If you’ve won what he has won, then you’ve done something right. He’s a big personality and we’re happy to have him in the team."
