Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney awarded big FIFA 21 upgrade in latest update

After some impressive recent performances, Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney has been rewarded with a big upgrade on FIFA 21.

The Scottish full-back has been a key player for Mikel Arteta this season, with the defender playing a big part in Arsenal's strong form from late December to early January, in which the Gunners won four games in all competitions, securing three clean sheets too.

In those games, Tierney scored a stunning goal against in their 4-1 win against West Brom, also securing an assist in that game, with the defender then grabbing another assist in their 2-0 FA Cup win against Newcastle United.

Tierney was missing for Arsenal's disappointing 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace at The Emirates Stadium last Thursday, a game in which the Gunners badly missed the Scot's offensive quality from left-back.

As a reward for the defender's strong recent form, EA SPORTS have given Tierney a big upgrade on FIFA 21 as part of the latest player database update.

Take a look below as we take you through all the changes to the Arsenal squad on FIFA 21 as of the latest database update, which is available to download now on Xbox, PlayStation and PC.

Kieran Tierney upgraded on FIFA 21

In the latest player database update for FIFA 21, which was released on January 15, Tierney has had a number of key attributes upgraded and has been given a boost to his overall rating too.

The Scottish full-back's crossing (77-82), short passing (73-75), positioning (67-70), dribbling (75-77), interceptions (74-75), vision (72-73), defensive awareness (76-77), ball control (74-75) and stamina (85-86) attributes have all been given a boost as part of the latest update.

As a result of these upgrades, Tierney's overall rating has also been boosted, with his overall rating increasing from 78 to 79. This still seems very low for a player of Tierney's quality, with the defender now having the same overall rating as Gabriel, Hector Bellerin, Granit Xhaka and Dani Ceballos.

But, he's still behind the likes of David Luiz (80), Willian (80), Mesut Ozil (81), Alexandre Lacazette (82), Thomas Partey (84), Bernd Leno (84) and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (87).

However Tierney's potential rating of 86 out of 100 means that he could become better overall than the majority of players mentioned, matching the current overall rating of players like Jordi Alba (86), Raphael Varane (86), Gerard Pique (86) and Dani Carvajal (86).

Despite Tierney's upgrade, his overall rating still looks too low, particularly compared with the likes of David Luiz and Willian.
