Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes has come out fighting after his mistake cost the Gunners a point at home to Fulham on Sunday afternoon.
Arsenal were big favourites as they welcomed Scott Parker's side to the Emirates Stadium, where they were looking to take their Europa League form into a stuttering Premier League campaign - but it wasn't to be.
After a goalless first 45, Gabriel was guilty of a clumsy trip on Mario Lemina which left Craig Pawson with little choice but to point to the spot.
His decision was supported by VAR, and Josh Maja duly converted from 12 yards, sending Arsenal back-up keeper Mat Ryan the wrong way.
Eddie Nketiah did grab a last-gasp equaliser for the hosts, though the morale remained low around the Emirates after the game, as Arsenal know this was a game they should have taken all three points.
Gabriel has had bright spells in a pretty poor domestic season for the Gunners, following his summer arrival, but his foul on Lemina inside the area proved to be costly as the points were shared come the end of the game.
The 23-year-old was quick to update fans on how he wouldn't let the mistake play on his mind too much, taking to social media to send a message to the Arsenal fans.
"Sad for the result today and for the penalty, but that will not let me down, these are things of the game! Only those who understand football know what goes on inside the 4 lines," he posted on Twitter.
"Keep working hard to improve. 'Say what you want, I accept the criticism'."
The point means Arsenal remain ninth, though Mikel Arteta will be all too aware of the presence of Leeds United and Aston Villa breathing down the Gunners' necks, both having at least one game in hand over the north London outfit.
