Arsenal defeat has Manchester United fans fuming for the second time after Everton thrashing

If Manchester United fans were angry at their 4-0 thrashing against Everton, Arsenal's subsequent defeat against Crystal Palace has only served to frustrate the fanbase even more.

United were abysmal at Goodison Park, falling to their worst Premier League defeat in two-and-a-half years.

It meant Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side remained in sixth place on 64 points, behind Chelsea and Arsenal on 66. Tottenham, who lost at Manchester City on Saturday, are third with 67 points.

With Chelsea playing Burnley on Monday, Arsenal had the chance to create a five point gap between United and fourth position. But Crystal Palace — inspired by former United winger Wilfried Zaha — won 3-2 at the Emirates on Sunday to keep the Gunners just two points ahead of United, who are yet to play Chelsea in the final four games.

The result for Arsenal meant United would have overtaken both their rivals and ended Sunday in fourth place, behind Spurs on goal difference with all teams having played 34 games.

After seeing United put in a horrendous performance at Everton, fans were understandably frustrated at the missed opportunity that could prove costly at the end of the season...
