AC Milan have opened talks with Noa Lang as they look to rival Arsenal for his signature.
The Gunners have been linked with the Club Brugge winger as Mikel Arteta looks to continue his rebuild at the club.
Lang has attracted attention from clubs around Europe after scoring 16 goals, plus seven assists last season and has carried that form over into the new campaign.
He scooped up a man of the match award as the Belgians held Paris Saint-Germain to a draw in the Champions League.
Arsenal have been credited with an interest, but it seems like Milan could be in pole position as they started negotiations with the player's agent through a meeting at the club's headquarters, according to La Gazetta dello Sport, via Sempremilan.com.

Would Dominic Calvert-Lewin be a good signing for Arsenal? Comment below
It remains to be seen how serious Arsenal's interest is in the forward but Lang appears to fit the mold of an Arteta signing as the Spaniard looks to invest in younger players who can develop into core pieces in the future.
It's expected Alexandre Lacazette will leave the club at the end of the season as the Gunners are yet to offer him a contract extension. Eddie Nketieh will likely follow the Frenchman out the exit door too.
Arsenal are in the hunt for an attacker, as a result, but it's not just Lang the north London club are targeting.
A number of strikers have reportedly been on Arsenal’s wish list, including the likes of Lautaro Martinez, Dusan Vlahovic and Alexander Isak.
The Sun claim the Gunners are looking closer to home, however, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Ollie Watkins on their radar.
And Ian Wright has already given his verdict on who he would sign out of the two England strikers.

The Arsenal legend admits it's hard to choose between the pair, but would give the Everton man the edge, who is valued at £40million by Transfermarkt, given his international experience.
He said on Match of the Day: “You’d probably take Dominic Calvert-Lewin simply because of his experience at under-21 level and the fact he’s had a very good season, just like Ollie Watkins.
“It’s an unfair question because I wouldn’t mind taking them both.”
Watkins admitted it was a long-term goal of his to play for Arsenal one day after scoring a winner for Aston Villa against them last season.

He told The Sun : "That's the dream to play for Arsenal one day. But it's a long shot.
"It's only because my family support them and stuff like that. But that's a long-term [goal]."
When asked about his favourite player, he added: "Thierry Henry.
"I'm an Arsenal fan, so Thierry Henry was my [favourite player]. He's unbelievable to watch. He was the idol growing up really."
