Arsenal could be set for £10million transfer windfall as Crystal Palace prepare bid for striker

Crystal Palace are ready to bid £10million for Eddie Nketiah, according to the latest reports.

As football.london understands, Nketiah could leave this window, but his ankle injury, which is set to keep him out until September, has made selling him that little more difficult.

If the England under-21 record goalscorer moves on this window, it could open the door for Arsenal to go out and sign a centre forward.

And as per the Athletic, Crystal Palace are preparing a bid of £10million for the out-of-favour forward, who looks to have fallen behind both Gabriel Martinelli and Folarin Balogun in the frontline pecking order at the Emirates Stadium.

The report adds that such a valuation is said to be shared by an unnamed team in Germany, who are thought to have seen two approaches knocked back as Arsenal attempt to achieve a price of around £20million.

After failing to find the net in both Premier League games this season, the Gunners arguably need another attacker to help add to their goalscoring tally.

The Gunners were said to be interested in bringing Tammy Abraham to north London before the forward completed his £34million move to play under former Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham boss, Jose Mourinho, at Roma.

They’ve also been continuously linked with a move for Lautaro Martinez of Inter Milan alongside closest rivals Spurs, but after news emerged that the Serie A club are preparing a new contract for the talented Argentine, that transfer is another that looks unlikely.

Arsenal will now prepare to face Manchester City without Nketiah because of his injury as Mikel Arteta looks to put a stop to his side’s poor start to the new Premier League season.
