Here is your Arsenal morning digest for Monday, September 7.
Lacazette set for Arsenal future talks
Alexandre Lacazette is set for talks over his Arsenal future in the coming days, a potentially pivotal moment in the Frenchman's career.
The France striker has never quite taken the club by storm since his £46.5million arrival from Lyon, heading into his fourth season as Arsenal's No.9 he has yet to reach 50 goals for the club.
Yet so much of Lacazette's time in north London has to be viewed through the prism of Aubameyang, perhaps the striker that Arsenal wanted and certainly a gauntlet laid down in the former's path when his reign as record signing was summarily ended after half a season.
Villa in pole position to secure Martinez
Questions over Emiliano Martinez's future could come to a head in the coming week as the Argentine goalkeeper awaits an indication from Arsenal as to what role he will play in the new season.
Aston Villa are in pole position to secure Martinez's signature should he choose to depart, they can offer him the first team football that he craves at Arsenal.
The Gunners would ideally like to keep Martinez and are prepared to offer him a new contract that will come with a significant pay rise on his £25,000-a-week salary. However it is not money that motivates the 28-year-old, something Arsenal are acutely aware of.
Arsenal hold talks with player's agent
Arsenal have held talks with Houssem Aouar's agent over a potential summer move to the Emirates Stadium, according to reports.
Fabrizio Romano, speaking on AFTV, claims that there has been contact between Arsenal and the player's agent, but talks with Lyon over a possible move are still at a very early stage.
The French club are said to be demanding a fee of at least £53 million for the midfielder, and it is also claimed by L'Equipe that Arsenal have seen a cash plus player offer rejected by Lyon, with the offered deal including Matteo Guendouzi going the other way.
Arsenal are also said to be facing competition from Man City for the midfielder.
