Arsenal confirmed XI vs Everton: Bukayo Saka benched as Eddie Nketiah, Dani Ceballos start

Eddie Nketiah has retained his place at the tip of the Arsenal attack as the Gunners look to win a third game in a row for the first time since September.

Alexandre Lacazette remains on the bench despite scoring in each of his last two appearances and he is not the only surprise substitute as Mikel Arteta's side take on Everton in the Premier League.

Bukayo Saka has also moved to the substitutes' bench after providing assists in his last two games. Sead Kolasinac starts at left-back.

Meanwhile Lucas Torreira is deemed fit only for the bench with Dani Ceballos once more starting alongside Granit Xhaka in midfield.

Arsenal v Everton: Carlo Ancelotti press conference

Torreira had missed the trip to Olympiacos with an illness but Arsenal confirmed in their pre-match injury bulletin that the Uruguayan had recovered and was deemed eligible for selection.

The same was true of Mesut Ozil, who missed the trip to Greece for personal reasons.

A win over Arteta's former club Everton would close the gap on fourth-placed Chelsea to seven points and move within three of Tottenham in fifth. The Gunners head coach said: "Now every game that we're going to play is going to have a big impact on the table.

"And we are aware of that. The home form, I think, is going to be vital if we want to achieve anything at the end of the season.

"We know that we'll have a shorter recovery - obviously, with the turnaround - and that's why we need all the players available and fit and with the right mindset, because it's going to be difficult."

Arsenal XI: Leno, Bellerin, Mustafi, Luiz, Kolasinac, Xhaka, Ceballos, Ozil, Pepe, Aubameyang, Nketiah
