Arsenal confirmed team news vs Tottenham as Granit Xhaka returns to starting line up

Granit Xhaka makes his return to the Arsenal starting line up for their North London Derby against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Swiss international has missed the Gunners last three matches after being sent off in their 5-0 defeat to Manchester City before the international break and picked up COVID-19 while on duty with Switzerland, but comes straight back into the team for today's game at the Emirates.

He is joined in the midfield by Thomas Partey, although it is unclear whether this will be a 4-2-3-1 set up or whether Mikel Arteta will stick with 4-3-3 deployed in recent victories over Burnley and AFC Wimbledon.

In goal Aaron Ramsdale continues in the Premier League side as Bernd Leno drops to the bench despite reports that he might be set to keep his place.

In front of him the back four is unchanged from the previous two league matches with Takehiro Tomiyasu and Ben White playing in their first competitive North London Derbies alongside Gabriel and Kieran Tierney.

Martin Odegaard and Emile Smith Rowe both keep their places, while it looks as though Bukayo Saka has shifted over to the right hand side with Nicolas Pepe missing out.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang starts up top despite Alexandre Lacazette's impeccable record in North London Derbies.

Arsenal starting XI vs Tottenham: Ramsdale; Tomiyasu, White, Gabriel, Tierney; Xhaka, Partey; Saka, Odegaard, Smith Rowe; Aubameyang.
