Arsenal confirmed team news vs FC Zurich as Fabio Vieira and Marquinhos make full debuts

Fabio Vieira and Marquinhos make their full competitive debuts for Arsenal as they take on FC Zurich in their opening Europa League groups stage match.

Both players have featured for the Gunners at under-21 level already this season but are yet to start a first-team match. Vieira came on as a substitute during Sunday's 3-1 defeat to Manchester United, but makes his first start tonight, while Marquinhos is making his first competitive senior appearance of any kind since signing from Sao Paolo in the summer.

Also making his debut is goalkeeper Matt Turner who comes in for Aaron Ramsdale. The American has been waiting patiently for his chance since arriving from New England Revolution in the summer and will be keen to fill the void left by Bernd Leno who has caused plenty of controversy this week.

Mikel Arteta has fielded a much-changed side that also sees Takehiro Tomiyasu, Rob Holding and Eddie Nketiah all come in for their first starts of the season.

The Gunners bench is also filled with plenty of young talent as Matt Smith, Amario Cozier-Duberry and Catalin Cirijan are all among the substitutes.

Arsenal starting XI vs Zurich - Turner; Tomiyasu, Holding, Gabriel, Tierney; Lokonga, Xhaka, Vieira; Marquinhos, Nketiah, Martinelli.

Subs - Ramsdale, Hein, Saliba, White,Zinchenko, Smith, Cirijan, Saka, Smith, Odegaard, Cozier-Duberry, Jesus.
