Arsenal confirmed team news vs Everton as Thomas Partey starts, Jorginho on the bench

Thomas Partey starts for Arsenal in their Premier League clash against Everton at Goodison Park. There had been some concerns that the Ghanaian might not be available for the match following a rib injury that forced him off at half-time during last week's FA Cup defeat to Manchester City.

"He’s not ruled out and it’s nothing very significant," Arteta said of the injury. "But it was significant enough to get him out of the game which for Thomas is a bit unusual but hopefully he’ll be fine."

His fitness to start means that new signing Jorginho is on the bench for the first time in an Arsenal shirt. He's joined there by fellow new faces Jakub Kiwior and Leandro Trossard.

Matt Turner, Rob Holding, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney all drop out from last week's match at the Etihad Stadium. Youngster Amario Cozier-Duberry is on the bench in the absence of Emile Smith Rowe and Reiss Nelson due to injury.

Arsenal confirmed starting XI vs Everton - Ramsdale; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Partey, Xhaka, Odegaard; Saka, Nketiah, Martinelli.
