Arsenal confirm time and date for FA Cup quarter-final clash with Sheffield United

Arsenal have confirmed that their FA Cup quarter-final against Sheffield United will be played on March 22 (Sunday) at 1:30pm. The game will be broadcast live on BT Sport.

March 21 will see Leicester City host Chelsea and Manchester City travel to Newcastle as Norwich City host Manchester United as the late kick off on March 22.

Each of Arsenal's previous FA Cup matches this season have been played on Mondays and this will be their first weekend outing in the 2019/20 campaign.

The date of the fixture also means that the Gunners' Premier League clash with Southampton will be rescheduled.

Mikel Arteta press conference ahead of Manchester City

Arsenal began their FA Cup journey with a 1-0 win over Leeds United before at Emirates Stadium before travelling to Bournemouth and Portsmouth to secure their place in the quarter-finals.

Their top scorer in the competition is Eddie Nketiah who has netted twice (away at Bournemouth and Portsmouth) and been in fine form since returning from his loan spell at Leeds in the first half of the season.

Having won the FA Cup more times than any other club (13 times), Arsenal have a great connection to the competition. They have also won it more times than any other side this century (six times) with Mikel Arteta hoisting the trophy twice in two seasons at Wembley.

Winning the 2014 and 2015 editions as a player, the Spaniard has made it clear from the start that he wants to do the same as a head coach.

"Absolutely (Arsenal should take the FA Cup seriously). I would like to have more fit players so I can rotate more, but we will see what we have after tomorrow," he said before the third round win over Leeds .

But obviously it is a competition that is very attached to this football club in recent years and we have to take to very seriously and we have to try to go to the next round.
