Arsenal will face La Liga champions Barcelona in the prestigious Joan Gamper Trophy friendly in early August.
This is likely to be the Gunners' final pre-season game before their Premier League season begins away to Newcastle United on August 11.
As revealed by football.london earlier in the week formal confirmation of the fixture has now arrived, with the match set to take place om Sunday, August 4 at the Camp Nou.
Unai Emery's side will follow in the footsteps of Manchester City in becoming only the second English club to take part in the competition in its current two team format and first since 2009.
The competition is named after founding member and former president of Barcelona, Gamper, and has taken place since 1966.
The match against Barcelona will be Arsenal's eighth friendly of a hectic pre-season schedule, which begins on July 6 when a youth XI takes on Boreham Wood at Meadow Park.
Emery's first team will be playing on both coasts of the USA in the International Champions Cup, facing off against Bayern Munich in Los Angeles before games against Fiorentina in Charlotte and Real Madrid in Washington.
Following that comes the return of the Emirates Cup in north London and a game away to Angers to celebrate the French side's 100th anniversary.
