Arsenal confirm Mikel Arteta deal as Everton return on cards for Premier League clash

Former Everton midfielder Mikel Arteta has been confirmed as the new Arsenal head coach ahead of the Gunners' clash at Goodison Park tomorrow .

Arteta starred for Everton from 2005 to 2011 before joining Arsenal until 2016. The Spaniard retired three years ago and joined the Manchester City coaching staff under Pep Guardiola.

The 37-year-old has helped transform the likes of Raheem Sterling at City and has gained rave reviews for his coaching skills.

Now Arsenal have taken somewhat of the gamble on the playmaker as he takes up his first managerial post of his fledgling career on a deal which will run until the end of the 2022/23 season.

Arteta is expected to be present at Goodison Park tomorrow for the clash against Everton but is not anticipated to be running proceedings on the sidelines for Arsenal.
