Arsenal confirm Dubai training camp during inaugural Premier League winter break

Arsenal are returning to Dubai next month.

Thanks to the Premier League's inaugural winter break, the Gunners don't have a fixture across any competition for two weeks following Sunday afternoon's clash away at Burnley.

And just like last season, the north London outfit are taking advantage of a gap in the fixture list by heading back to Dubai for a warm-weather training camp.

Bournemouth 1-2 Arsenal: Arteta post-match press conference

A statement via Arsenal.com reads: "Our first-team squad is heading for a training camp in Dubai during the forthcoming winter break.

"They will arrive on February 7, returning on February 11.

"Emirates Airline, whose partnership with the club is one of the most recognisable and long-standing in sport, will be flying the team to Dubai.

"Mikel Arteta will use the training camp to bring the squad together in a warmer climate as part of preparations for the fixture against Newcastle United on February 16, the Europa League clash against Olympiacos four days later and the run-in that follows.

"As we prepare for several key fixtures, we are looking forward to a change of routine with some warm-weather training," Arteta said.

"Dubai is a fantastic place and the football facilities there are first class. It will do us good to experience a change of environment before we enter a crucial part of the season."

Unlike last season, the Gunners will not be allowed to take advantage of not having a game for a couple of weeks.

Back in March of 2019, Arsenal faced Al-Nasr in an organised lucrative friendly.

The game ended in a 3-2 win for the Gunners.

Tyreece John-Jules came off the bench to get on the scoresheet.

There were also goals for Alexandre Lacazette and Carl Jenkinson - who departed the Emirates Stadium in the summer to join Nottingham Forest.
